Rail tie plate is also called rail base plate or sole plate, it is a main component in railroad construction of a crane rail or track support system.
Rail tie plates are used not only to support the rails, but also to fix the entire rail fastening systems. It always works together with anchor bolts or spikes by sustaining the load of a rail track and also transferring part of the load to the tie sleepers, with a flat smooth resting surface to guarantee the vertical alignment and hold the rail in correct gauge for a rail line system.
All in all, rail tie plates are used to given a smooth and uniform bearing surface for the rail and the tie in order to prevents the rail from cutting into the tie, maintain gauge, and also helps to better distribute the wheel load to ties.
Agico Rail is capable of producing rail tie plates by either casting(welded or fabricated type) or forging or rolling, applicable of different rail sections, for wooden, steel or concrete sleepers, depending on the load and rail standard, i.e. UIC 60, UIC 54, RN 45, 90 A, etc.
Rail tie plates can be classified depending on either a single or double shoulder construction, to supply various ribbed tie plates.
For the tie plates of single shoulder, the shoulder is designed at the field end of the plate. The plate’s short end or gauge end is placed inside of the rail track, and that why the rail base width is always required from clients. Single shoulder tie plates are usually used by rails weights running from 56lb though 100 lb.
For a sole plate of double shoulder, types of 2-hole, 4-hole, 5-hole, 6-holes or 8-hole are all available according to customer requests. Double shoulder plates are usually used for rail that is larger than 100 lb.
Casting is a common technology to produce rail tie plates, which is also a cost saving way.

A rail base plate is a key part in KPO fastening system to support the rail and fix the whole fastening systems, tied onto the rail with rail bolts and railroad spikes.
For American market, the common sizes include 11inches, 14inchies and 14-3/4inches tie plate, they are generally for 5-1/2inches and 6inches width rail base.
HTTP, whose full name is hook twin tie plate, is widely used for turnouts positioned behind the switch bottoms. In order to ensure the tie spacing, the HTTP is often used in pairs to a single tie. Among the products, the 1st AREMA hook twin tie plate producer of both 3/4’’ and 1’’ thick in China.
Different available varieties:
For 3/4’’ hook twin tie plate: L23, L27, L31, LR23, LR27, LR31, H23, H27, H31.
For 1’’ hook twin tie plate: L29, L33, L37, LR28, LR32, LR36, H29, H33, H37, H41.
Among the market, the 3/4’’ and 1’’ thick varieties are mostly popular in North America. With a modern production line, our workshop is a modern and special one and we are capable of producing such products for 1000MTS annually.
In order to ensure the quality of the final products, over 30 working staff are prepared only for HTTPs, especially the hole making and hook making process. Besides, there is a Quality Control Team for the testing and inspection in process as well. With many years of hard-working, we have never got any complaint or dissatisfaction from our buyers up to now.
We can produce any other types of rail sole plates or tie plates according to customers’ drawings with full sizes and other technical specifications including the processing technology.
